Adult Education – Spring 2008
GROW in your relationship with God .

~ Beginning May 4 ~
9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Sundays
Prayer does not happen on the run. Learn how to slow down and be with God. There's so much going on....work, church, school, family, relationships; the list is never ending. Someone always seems to need something from us. But time for God, time to pray, seems impossible to find.  Based on the book Too Busy Not To Pray by Bill Hybels. Handouts will be available.

Is there a God? If there is, why is there so much suffering in the world? Are you challenged by these questions? All believers want to be able to give the reason for their faith. But many hesitate, not sure how to answer tough questions about Christ. Based on the book Bringing Your Faith To Work by Norman Geisler and Randy Douglass. Handouts will be available.

Grab a cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate in the Café and join us!

A SERVICE OF TRUST & HEALING

“Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.” James 5:14

It is good to gather together to express our trust in God and to pray. We want to offer this service as just such an opportunity. Our purpose will not be to desperately pray for miracles, but to gather together in hope. Hebrews 6:19 reminds us that hope is “an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” Pastor Jack van de Hoef has said, “Hope is confident expectation anchored in God. We always have hope. Even when a medical treatment does not bring about the desired results, we still have hope. That’s because our hope is not in human abilities or promises. Our hope is in God.”

It is in this hope that we invite you to come and join us for a Service of Trust and Healing on Sunday evening, May 18th at 6:30 pm. It is important to remember that we are all broken people. While we may believe that we are healthy and not in need of physical healing, we might consider our need for healing of our mind, our thought life, our spirit. Perhaps our relationship with God or some other relationship is in need of healing. Whatever the need, you are invited to come.

Gourmet Cooking Light
Tuesday, May 20th
Healthy cooking is a skill that anyone can learn. It doesn't take any more time or effort.

Join the NCW & Girlfriends on Tuesday, May 20th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm for a night of deli-cious gourmet food that not only makes an appealing presentation, but is actually healthy for you.
Sample a full menu of foods that are easy to prepare, yet lighter on the calories and the waistline. Now how exciting is that! We realize that our fast-paced lifestyles make it impossible to devote hours or entire days to preparing healthy meals to nourish our families and ourselves.
Gourmet Cooking Light will be a night to enjoy time with your Girlfriends, sample some delicious recipes; from appetizers to desserts; and learn ways to prepare gourmet quality meals with less fuss and lighter ingredients.
While this exciting evening is still in the planning stages, there will be cooking demonstrations, food sampling and health and nutrition information. Watch for more information in the Cove-nant Connection, posters, and sign-up opportunities coming soon.
If you would be willing to demonstrate a recipe, or assist the Girlfriends in planning and pre-senting this evening, please contact:
